It’s the last day! A lot of ground has been covered on this trip so far. I hope by now you are convinced that Brooklyn deserves more than a day trip. Let's get to today's itinerary.

Sunday - Day Seven: Bushwick, Roberta's, Nowadays, and more

The weekend is a good time to head to Bushwick. As one of New York's most interesting neighborhoods, Bushwick shouldn't disappoint. On the surface, this neighborhood has a strong post-industrial era vibe. It feels like many of the discarded factory and warehouse districts scattered across America. However, when you look closely, it becomes apparent that Bushwick may have created a new roadmap for how cities should reuse post-industrial spaces. Start the day with brunch at Roberta’s. When Roberta’s opened in the neighborhood in 2008, was a pioneer in the pending wave of revitalization set to hit the neighborhood. A decade later, Bushwick is one of the hottest neighborhoods in the country. And Roberta's, an eclectic pizza restaurant built in a former industrial space, is one of the most famous restaurants in New York. As for the menu, even though it is a pizza restaurant, the brunch menu is anything but pizza focused. The menu should have something for any craving. If you like bacon... Order the bacon! This area of Brooklyn is known for having some fun day parties on the weekend. Dancing to some nice music would be a great way to burn off those calories from the meal at Roberta's. During the warmer months, two great venues for finding a nice outdoor party during the day are Brooklyn Mirage and Nowadays. Nowadays is an amazing Berlin-like venue with indoor and outdoor areas for socializing and enjoying music. Technically, Nowadays is in Queens, but it is easy to slip across the border from Bushwick without judgment. Afterward the day parties, take a stroll around the Jefferson Street stop of the L train for a little bar hopping and people watching. There will be plenty of food trucks along Wyckoff Avenue to grab a bite to eat. If you want a more official dining establishment, check out Sea Wolf for dinner and evening drinks. We hope you enjoyed Brooklyn!
